Organising as an Artist

Artists can’t get out of having to spend time organising so many things in order for an art event to do well! It’s a full time job! Did anyone tell you?! So now you’ve found out!

Time away from sketching out ideas and creating is at times frustrating but it has to be done. I don’t know about you, but social media and emails take up so much time. As artists we need to see positive results from our time outlay. Whilst we do these things we’re not being paid, so, when we do sell an artwork – behind that price is also the hours spent doing admin and finding out new outlets that might be interested in our work.

Making a sale means you’re supporting a creative and all she or he has done behind the scenes. So, thank you to all you supporters – you mean the world to us! 🖼️

Surreal Solihull is in Town!

It’s up and looks fantastic, sitting proudly outside on the High Street and Drury Lane by Hunters Estate Agents!

It’s given Solihull an area of looking, relaxing, a quiet space between each display. It’s really added value to the Town. Come and see for yourself, free to all.

It will remain in Solihull Town Centre until the end of May when it will move to a new venue in the Borough. A third location is also planned.

Hope to see you there!

Artwork done 🎉 Celebration!

To complete a commission, and to be ready for hand over is still exciting to this day! I say, never loose the sense of excitement and achievement! It keeps us alive!

Next comes the feeling of anticipation, hope and expectation! Hoping above all else that the client(s) will love the artwork that they have decided to commission – more on that tomorrow.

In the meantime, it’s up to the packing room to wrap and protect the canvas artwork 🖼️ Have a great Sunday and stay warm on this wet blustery January day!

Last Christmas holidays were also busy creating artwork for my solo show entitled: Beautiful Open Spaces. It’s definitely a great time of year! 🥂
